We popped in here for lunch the other day, not expecting much but we were VERY pleasantly surprised. The place has a great atmosphere, with a real wood fire and hard wood floors. The staff were helpful and very nice, the food was superb. When we were there, there was a birthday party going and we saw how impeccable the service was for that event too. We had the &quot;curry of the day&quot; (a delicious butter chicken) and eggs benedict. Their coffee was great too. If you go there at lunch time, every day they have a different lunch special with meal and coffee for $12. We also saw a sign of their &quot;pork Thursday&quot; dinner special and we are planning to go back to try it soon.

A comfortable roomy restaurant, great menu selection. Prices are very competitive, all staff were very efficient and friendly. Food was of a very high standard. Great night all round.

One of the popular coffee shops, best known for Western desserts such as cupcakes, the top layer of cupcakes is very delicate and the coffee quality is very high. The best known in the store is the Red Velvet cake. In addition to coffee, there are other drinks such as pearl milk tea and milkshakes available for guests to choose from.

We were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch, when we accidentally found this place. They had a great selection of food and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious and well priced. Hope to stop by again one day!

Happened to need a pharmacist and directed to Kumeu Road. Whilst waiting for prescription took a walk along the shops for a good nose around. Stumbled across The Fireplace but didn&#39;t realise it was a restaurant until closer look. A good menu with plenty of variety and restaurant clean and spacious. Returned that night with the family. It was a Monday in February and the place was empty. Our advantage was &#39;superior service&#39;. You can not beat having your own waiter and chef! The menu shows no particular origin (Butter Chicken, Bolognese, Belly Pork, etc) and between the four of us we had a variety of dishes. Each arrived without too much delay (no surprise there) very well presented and cooked to perfection. Guys, get out there and shout about your restaurant from the rooftops....

We had been held up at a meeting in Helensville and were in need of food as we passed through Kumeu back yo Auckland. . .. The wife suggested we stop and I was surprised how busy the restaurant actually was. It was a Thursday evening and there was constant arrival of patrons. The food was good when compared to most average restaurants. The staff although untrained were friendly and willing to do a good job. The restaurant is nice with a friendly homely atmosphere. The wife has pork ribs which were probably as well presented as anywhere .. there was no problem getting a dogie bag as the serving was most generous. I ordered steak, medium/rare but it was not cooked correctly .. cooked with too much heat and it was closer to well done. The veges were tasty and and well presented. The menu has no theme so there are many choices including Indian Buttered Chicken .. We will call again to try something else off the menu .. The Fireplace has huge potential and maybe we did not experience what it it is capable of on our first visit.
